from Rochester, NY, now living in McKinney, Texas. My husband Skip and I have been married for 55 years and have 3 great sons. We are so blessed with their families and 4 amazing grand-children.
Throughout the years I've tried my hand at many arts and crafts, but none have been as satisfying & rewarding as jewelry making. September 10, 2001 was the launch date for Wishful Thinking Jewelry from my home in Long Island, NY. For six years, I partnered with many stores in the local area and around our vacation home on Cape Cod.
We moved to McKinney, TX in 2007, and I opened my first retail space in 2010, on the historic McKinney square as a vendor inside Home & Garden Trading Co. In 2013, I joined forces with two dear friends from H&G to open
The Crystal Cloche.
By 2016, it was clear we had outgrown the space so I moved to a single space across the square on Kentucky St. It included room for retail space as well as a dream-come-true jewelry making studio. After 15 years, it was truly an indescribable thrill to create an official "home" for Wishful Thinking Jewelry!
Fast forward to 2018, when I was able to secure 2400 square feet on the first floor of the landmark Richardson building at the corner of E. Louisiana & Tennessee Streets. Wishful Thinking was on a roll, growing and thriving, until the pandemic hit us just as it did the entire square. It was during this time that I had to rethink my working 7 days per week while facing all the future uncertainties. I wanted to return to a simpler time, with less stress and more freedom to focus on my love of jewelry making. It was a bitter-sweet decision to close January 31, 2021.
From 2022 to 2024, I was the resident silversmith inside McKinney Art Gallery and then, Rosas & Lavanda, both located on the McKinney square.
Fast forward yet again to November, 28, 2025...
I have found a new home for my silversmithing studio. It is inside a building fully renovated by its owner & 2nd floor resident. It has all the aged characteristics of old McKinney...tin ceiling, wood walls & concrete floor all restored to their original beauty. Every detail fits my dream of the most perfectly rustic & industrial space a metalsmith could ever hope for!

My "wish" is to connect with those visiting my new shop for the first time, as well as to renew and maintain a relationship with everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout my past 15 years on "the Square". It has meant more than I could ever express. I feel so blessed to be "working" again and am always "wishfully thinking" of what lies ahead!
Patty
